VIDEO: Tribute to Betty Dodson, 30+ Years as a Sex Educator
May 5, 2009
Betty Dodson, Ph.D. is an American sex educator, writer, and artist. She is widely known as a pioneer in women’s sexual liberation, having sold more than 1 million copies of her first book, Sex for One. Much of her fame has come from her work not only advocating Tantra (self-love) and masturbation, but conducting workshops for more than 30 years in which groups of about 10 or more women would talk, explore their own bodies, and masturbate together. She hosted a public access cable television program in New York City in the early 80′s, and conducted her workshop – a dozen or so nude women discussing and practicing masturbation – on TV.
Below are video clips from the “Celebrating Orgasm” workshop that was televised:

I think its wonderful that women are feeling much more liberated about their bodies and increasingly displaying it. I think the conservative 1950′s and 1960′s to a degree must have been very constraining for women in the US, with so much social stigma in effect (men have always lusted for women even in those times, it juts was hidden). I am happy we are beyond that ( at least in the cities), and probably 50-60 % of women who are liberal minded, would agree with me on this anyway. As a man I adore women and wish them everything they hope for and want to achieve, go on girls !!!
